Ecuador alberga el Campeonato Sudamericano 2023 y el Congreso de la Confederación Sudamericana de Levantamiento de Pesas.
Colombia Sede de Campeonto Sudamericano 2024
La Confederación Sudamericana de Levantamiento de Pesas dió a conocer que Colombia, fue seleccionado como sede de los Campeonatos Sudamericanos Sub 15, Sub 17, Sub 20 y Campeonato Sudamericano Absoluto. Eventos que se realizaran en el transcurso del año 2024.

Juegos Centro Americanos y del Caribe, las pesas
Después de un retraso en el inicio de las competencias de un día, por los estragos de las lluvias en la Cuna del Mágico, el levantamiento de pesas se desarrolló este sábado sin problemas, en el debut en los Juegos C.A. y del Caribe de San Salvador 2023.
La Federación Salvadoreña de Levantamiento de Pesas fue la responsable de la organización técnica de Levantamiento de Pesas en San Salvador 2023, que acogió a los 17 países participantes y sus delegaciones del 24 al 27 de junio en la “Cuna del Mágico” dentro del Estadio Nacional Mágico González.


Inauguración de los Juegos
El presidente Nayib Bukele inauguró los juegos con un discurso sobre cómo se logró organizar el evento.
Que normalmente se hace en 6 años que es lo que se da para preparar estos juegos nosotros lo hicimos en año y medio vimos la oportunidad de salvar estos juegos y garantizar que miles de atletas pudieran brillar y cumplir sus sueños de participar en un evento deportivo de este nivel, fue un gran reto para todos sobre todo para estos miles de trabajadores pero podemos decir lo logramos, también vimos la oportunidad de mostrar lo mucho que hemos avanzado como pais en tan poco tiempo, oficialmente doy por inaugurado la vigésima cuarta edición de los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe San Salvador 2023.

Federación Panamericana Levantamiento Pesas firma Convenio con la Universidad Manuel Fajardo de Cuba
La Federación Panamericana de Levantamiento de Pesas firma convenio de con la Universidad de Ciencias de la Cultura Física y el Deporte “Manuel Fajardo” de Cuba, es una institución certificada por la Junta de Acreditación Nacional, reconocida internacionalmente como la “Universidad del Deporte Cubano”; de sus aulas han egresado cerca del 90 % de los campeones olímpicos de su país.
El Objetivo
Este convenio será para: Diseñar y aplicar sistemas de capacitación y superación dirigido a resolver los problemas que enfrenta las prácticas de levantamiento de pesas. Asimismo, acondicionar espacios de intercambio entre especialistas, entrenadores, árbitros y directivos propiciando generalizar las buenas prácticas en la halterofilia y, de igual manera, mejorar las condiciones técnicas del laboratorio y aulas especializadas para la formación y capacitación de éstos mismos.

Jalood presidente de la IWF y el secretario general de la IWF, Antonio Urso, estuvieron presentes en la rúbrica de José Carlos Quiñones, presidente de la Federación Panamericana de Pesas, y el rector de la casa de estudios, Dr. C. Silvano Merced Len. Además recorrieron áreas de la UCCFD.

Las academias se utilizarán para educar a los entrenadores, entrenar a los atletas, realizar seminarios especializados y todo en una sola dirección, hacia la ciencia y lejos del dopaje, dijo el presidente de la IWF, Mohammed Jalood, antes de la firma del acuerdo.

Lima en una emotiva y colorida ceremonia, se inauguró este miércoles en la VIDENA, los Campeonatos Sudamericano, Campeonato Panamericano, Campeonato Sudamericano Sub 15 y Campeonato Sudamericano Sub 17 de Levantamiento de Pesas que tiene la presencia de más de 250 deportistas de 18 países de América.
Presentes en la inauguración, además de deportistas y autoridades, estuvieron el presidente de la Confederación Sudamericana de Levantamiento de Pesas y de la Federación Panamericana de Levantamiento de Pesas, José Quiñones, la vicepresidenta de esa entidad, Doris Barrera, el director de Integración de Legado, Angel Borges y el presidente del Instituto Peruano del Deporte, Máximo Pérez.
El deporte no son medallas, el deporte es transformación social, el deporte es beneficios social, deporte es tener una sociedad más sana más obediente en el buen sentido de la palabra, obediente al esfuerzo, una sociedad que entiende que a través del esfuerzo diario, es consciente y bien dirigido se transforma en progreso. Este es el legado queremos darle al mundo de parte de la Federación internacional, continental y regional de levantamiento de pesas.
Hoy agradezco a los países que se reúnen en este recinto, agradezco a las autoridades por hacer posibles este evento, agradezco a la Federación Nacional y adelantar que presidente y presidente del Comité Olímpico Peruano se encuentra en una reunión de los comités olímpicos en Corea, pero envía sus saludos a través mío, agradezco a todos porque todos juntos hacemos esto, todos juntos podemos transformar el país, transformar el mundo y la sociedad.
